How Botox & Xeomin Fight Wrinkles
Botox & Xeomin work by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that contract to cause wrinkles. They can be used as a preventative treatment against wrinkles developing, as well as for wrinkles that are already present.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Radiesse® add volume to the cheekbones, lips, under eyes, and other areas. Sometimes, it's best to get a combination of Botox®/Xeomin® as well as different fillers to get optimal correction. Together, Botox®/Xeomin® and dermal fillers can work together to rejuvenate the face.
What Is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance that is naturally found in the skin. Its function in the skin is to deliver nutrients. Juvederm®, Restylane®, and Radiesse® are types of dermal fillers. They are made from a modified form of HA. The HA in facial fillers helps provide volume, retain moisture and give a soft, subtle, natural appearance.
How Dermal Fillers and Botox Differ
As people age and get older, the fat pads in their faces begin to shrink. Fillers help to revive those areas of fat loss and provide the fullness that gives a youthful look. Nurse Practitioner & Master Injector
Carolyn Kray is our company's Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her decade-long career in ophthalmology and aesthetics, she has become a trusted injector and master injector who specializes in upper and lower face botulinum toxin injections, dermal fillers, Kenalog, etc. She communicates with facial fillers, sheet injections under eye treatments, and lip injections. She is a Certified Allergan and Merz injector.
Carolyn, who graduated from Kent State University, has her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Business, her bachelor's of Science in Nursing, and her Master's of Science in Nursing.
For Carolyn, being an aesthetics provider in Ophthalmology merges two of her greatest interests: working within the highest levels of technology and medicine, and assisting her patients in looking and feeling their best. Treatment FAQs
How much Botox®/Xeomin® will I need?
The amount of treatment needed will be guided by each client's previous health history, previous cosmetic procedures, facial muscle strength, and individual treatment goals.
When will I see results from Botox®/Xeomin®?
Clients often see results within the first 48 hours. Although, the full effect may not take place for up to two weeks after the injections. Results from facial fillers are immediate.
What can I expect during my first visit?
Our staff will examine and educate you, and they will take photographs of the areas that you would like treated. This consultation allows our experts to build an individualized plan with you. Our master injector will provide this full, complimentary consultation where you can feel free to discuss your questions and concerns. We are here to help guide you through your aesthetic journey.
Who will be doing my treatments?
Our Certified Nurse Practitioner will perform your treatments and injections. She has years of experience in the Aesthetics field. Our staff is here to provide guidance through our provided services. We have the expert knowledge required to enhance your natural beauty.
Will my face look unnatural?
No, our treatment technique delivers subtle, lasting results. Additionally, the products we use are specifically formulated to give natural results. After treatments, you can expect to look like yourself, just refreshed!
Can I drive myself to my appointment?
Yes! There is no downtime with aesthetic treatments, and you can drive yourself to your appointment.
Will I bruise from fillers or Botox®/Xeomin®?
You may experience minor bruising or swelling after treatment. There are ways you can minimize the likelihood of bruising:
- Avoid drinking alcohol for 24-48 hours before treatment.
- Avoid supplements, vitamins, and over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen and related products (NSAIDs) that can thin blood.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 3 days after treatment.
- Use Arnica cream on areas of bruising to speed up recovery.
- Sleep on your back with your head elevated after treatment.
- Stay hydrated before and after treatment.
- Use a cold compress on areas treated with filler for 20 minutes at a time during the first several hours after treatment.
What should I stay away from after treatment?
You should not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use hair removal products on treated areas.
- Avoid using topical anti-aging products for at least 2 days before and after treatment.
- Avoid wearing makeup on treated areas for 24 hours.
- Ask your provider when you can start using facial products again.
- Postpone dental procedures for 2 weeks before and after your treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun/heat exposure for 24-48 hours after our treatment.
